Sport First Aid

 

 

Overview:

The Sport First Aid Course is a 7-hour classroom course with content that deals with sport specific issues relating to:

  • liability
  • fitness & injury prevention
  • facility awareness
  • protective equipment
  • emergency action plans
  • the medical kit
  • life threatening injuries
  • injury recognition
  • common injuries all geared towards sport in general.
First Aid

Cost to HOST the Course is $455 + gst.  If the course is not held in Saskatoon or Regina, then there is the additional cost of travel $0.34/km roundtrip for the closest available instructor.  If applicable, lodgings and/or meals might also be required depending upon the location hosted.

As a HOST, you would be responsible for selecting a date, looking after registration fees and payment, and booking a facility. Facility should be in a classroom set up with either a white screen or white wall for projection.  The SMSCS will supply its own a/v equipment.  The class is lecture in nature

This course is taught by a Sport Physiotherapist certified by Sport Physio Canada or a Certified Athletic Therapist certified by the Canadian Association of Athletic Therapy. 

For taking the full course, a Wallet Card is provided to participants. 

We require at least 1-months notice for booking.  

Modified versions of this course may be presented ranging from 2 to 6 hours in length.
